March 8th: International Women’s Day

This year, the International Women’s Day’s official website (https://www.internationalwomensday.com/Theme) suggests the following theme:

#BreakTheBias

Imagine a gender equal world.

A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Together we can forge women’s equality.

Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

According to Merriam Webster (merriam-webster.com), the word bias means:

1a: an inclination of temperament or outlook especially : a personal and sometimes unreasoned judgment : PREJUDICE

b: an instance of such prejudice

So, “breaking the bias” means stop with prejudice.

It is amazing that in 2022 we’re still talking about “prejudices”, “inequality”, “stereotypes”, “discrimination”. We are the ones to stop this nonsense.
